Background Information

Rocky loves the beach since he grew up surfing and swimming in Malibu, California.   He is an Alumnus of Santa Monica High School and graduated from Woodbury University with a degree in Management, minoring in International Finance, and California State University--Northridge with a Masters in Business Administration.

He served as an Ship Salvage and Diving Officer in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged. Upon completing his degree,  he worked for many years for Mattel Toys and Max Factor & Co. Later he received a teaching credential and taught Christian grade school in Orange County. In 1979,

Rocky learned paperhanging from his uncle, an Old-world craftsman, and has enjoyed the trade ever since, diversifying his business into finish carpentry 14 years ago. He has enjoyed working with designers and private clientele in San Diego, Orange and Riverside Counties in the past. 

He has worked in Orange County for over 30 years, but also has family in Carlsbad, where he likes the cool ocean breezes and village atmosphere. Recent jobs in San Diego County include Qualcomm Stadium's Sky Boxes, and the new JC Penny's Portrait Studios in Carlsbad and National City. He now resides in the North County community of Carlsbad.   He enjoys the the culturally diverse restaurants  of the whole area with Vietnamese PHÔ, being one of his favorite lunches. He also is a part-time caregiver for his elderly father who suffered a stroke in 2006.

In his leisure time, Rocky enjoys spending time with his family, helping others, web surfing, dining out, traveling, fabricating bird nesting boxes, composing music, singing, church activities, "virtual" turkey and deer hunting on the Outdoor Channel, and  solving crossword and Sudoku puzzles.
